As a full-time nanny, I worked with a family from the time their first child was eleven months, through the birth of their second child until the kids were 5, and 3, respectively. Throughout that time, I helped sleep-train and potty-train both kids, keeping a detailed daily log of eating, napping, and diaper-changing habits. On more than one occasion, I stayed at the home for a weekend while the parents went on short trips. During nap time, I often did the children’s laundry, loaded and unloaded the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen, organized the pantry, readied the guest bedroom and parents bedsheets for guests (often!) and other various housekeeping tasks. As the one home most of the time, I handled packages, gardeners, pool maintenance and pest control contractors, and housekeepers. The children and I left the house nearly every day, driving to local parks, libraries, the aquarium, the zoo, the beach, Read more swim classes, preschool, and Kumon courses. I am CPR certified, with a degree in psychology under which I interned at a preschool for children of domestic abuse and neglect. Some of the courses I took helped me foster a healthy development in both babies and toddlers. I also took eleven years of classical piano training as a child, and have taken a few Spanish classes as an adult which I enjoy incorporating into my nanny work.
