During COVID, I just left my last position as a clinical consultant and program manager for a learning processing group. I enjoy working with children, because they challenge me to practice creativity and patience every day. I am now looking to move my career in a new direction which involves focusing on graduate school. I am participating in an online program, so my education will remain virtual even after COVID, meaning I will be able to continue meeting your schedule. I am still relatively young (most days =P) but I have 10+ years experience working with children on all ages. i am comfortable with both the childcare and education side of developmental assistance. I believe that childhood should be filled with fun, learning, creativity, positivity, and chances to learn the lessons I wish I had learned earlier. I am doing so virtually at this time, however am willing to consider in person for the right family if necessary. As a manager for a learning processing group, I have worked with children with various learning and developmental disorders from ASD to ADD/ADHD etc. All children deserve the right to know they are cared for, they are capable, and that they have a support system available to bolster them on their journeys to meet their goals. I believe that technology is useful when utilized correctly, however I do attempt to minimize screen time and technological dependence whenever possible. I know in today's world of online education, it can be difficult to move away from the screens. I believe in fostering autonomy, confidence, creativity, and passions. Empowering children is sometimes more of a challenge than typically realized, so I make a point of doing so at all opportunities. However, that does not mean that I do not cognizance the need for safety and relative order.
