I am 50 years old and I am currently transitioning from one career to another. After many years as a practicing attorney, I decided I wanted a change. I quit my job and I've gone back to school to pursue a second career in nursing. In my younger days, I was a paramedic and I loved it. So, transitioning to nursing is not really so much a new career as a return to an old one. I have raised my own kids. They are both successful adults who live away from home. I also have two grandchildren - one 2 and one 15. I have experience with infants, toddlers, school-age children and adolescents. I can help with homework, tidying up, and other light housework. I'm happy to take the kids to activities, and think kids should be outside playing whenever possible. I eat a very healthy diet and would be Read more comfortable preparing healthy snacks and meals. I am CPR certified and I am also working on re-certifying as a paramedic. So, you can feel comfortable that I can handle medical emergencies. I am also okay with taking care of sick children. I'm looking for part-time work to help me stretch my savings through the end of school - about 3 years down the road.
