Hello! I’ve enjoyed working in childcare as an educator and nanny for over twenty years on and off in both Nevada and Placer Counties. I started out teaching music lessons, particularly vocal coaching and piano lessons during my young early adult years, and ended up finding myself as content as ever running a preschool in Applegate as their music teacher and part time live in nanny. Even though I hadn’t completed my Bachelor’s degree yet, I had felt as though I could be satisfied spending my days with miniature versions of ourselves, and nothing brought me more happiness than introducing the language of the soul, music, into their everyday lives with the catchy jingles and famous nursery rhymes you might find yourself humming in the shower, but don’t wish to tell anyone! Well after having earned my BA in Deaf Studies from Sac State, I’ve considered jobs in Deaf Education, Read more but have yet to find my niche, so to speak. I have found baby sign language to be a wonderful method of communicating for our little ones who have yet to develop the vocal chord strength to voice the words that they are finished, as opposed to banging and slamming their tiny hands down on their messy high table trey. So yes, with my degree I’ve become nearly fluent in ASL (American Sign Language), and implement baby sign whenever and wherever appropriate. I’m CPR and First Aid Certified, of course, and would love to see if I’m a good match for your kiddos and pets!
