I graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Art Education. I put myself through college by being a nanny. I supervised a junior higher for a year, and was a nanny for a family who had 4 children under the age of 4 for 6 years - until the newborn turned 6 and started kindergarten. After I was married and started having my own children, I ran my own daycare for 5 years. When my youngest was 2, I worked as a preschool teacher for Calvary Chapel and a teacher for their Academy for 3 years. I have been teaching/tutoring for the following organizations for the past 19 years:GRACE homeschooling support group, Vine Academy, Ocean Grove Charter School, Baldwin Elementary, Classical Conversations, American Advanced Academy, 180 Turn Around Tutoring, The Tutoring Club. I have been homeschooling my 3 children since 2003. As my children grew and became Read more more independent with their school work, I started taking care of babies and children in my home again; I have done this for the past 5 years. Now that I am almost done homeschooling my youngest, I can work full time. I am comfortable with newborns to teens; I love soothing fussy newborns, reading and playing with active toddlers, teaching phonics to elementary children, and tutoring teens. I have cared for and/or tutored children/teens with Aspergers, ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, and learning and behavioral disorders. I am physically fit and can clean anything. I have a clean driving record, and my own transportation. I love animals, and I am not afraid of running noses, vomit, poop, or mold. As my children are growing up and out of the house, my mommy heart still longs to nurture and hold babies, play with children, and teach - basically - I'm not done being a mommy and home-maker. I would love to shower love and attention on your children and home. I have excellent references. The only day I cannot work is Sunday (family day) and until the end of April, I can not work on Tuesdays before 3:30pm. Starting in May I will be free Mon-Sat. I would prefer working 12 hr days - 3 to 4 days a week, but will work normal 8 hr days - 5 days a week. I can stay late and even over night.
