My name is Megan Luis, and I bring over 17 years of dedicated professional childcare experience, with a strong foundation in early childhood development. I’ve had the honor of supporting and helping raise two incredible families over the last 15 years, working with children ranging from infancy to teenage years. From 2010 to 2016, I cared for two young boys whose mother was battling cancer. After her passing, I supported their emotional and psychological transition, including helping one child manage selective mutism. It was a deeply meaningful experience that strengthened my understanding of how to nurture children through trauma with compassion and patience. Since 2017, I’ve worked with a high-profile family, caring for three children (now aged 8 to teens). I started when the youngest was just four months old and have been a steady presence in their lives ever since. In addition to childcare, I serve as the family’s Read more personal assistant, managing household tasks such as bill payments, car maintenance, scheduling, and organizing age-appropriate activities. As the children grow more independent, I’m now seeking my next long-term position where I can offer the same loyalty, care, and expertise. I’ve completed three out of four courses in an Early Childhood Development certification program — including Child Psychology, Foundations of Early Childhood Education, and Child, Family, and Community. My passion for working with children also stems from my own upbringing as the eldest of four. I’ve volunteered with at-risk youth at Martinez Juvenile Hall and worked with children with special needs, as well as supported the daycare center at Diablo Valley College. Creativity is at the heart of my approach. As a trained theatre actor, I love imaginative play — whether it's dressing up, giving voices to toys, or catching lizards outside. I’m also a skilled party planner, having served as an event coordinator for a theater company for two years. Structure and organization are important to me: I encourage tidy habits, maintain a balanced routine (homework, healthy snacks, outdoor play, winding down), and support each child’s psychological and intellectual growth. I’m sweet, patient, and communicative, with a calm presence that allows kids to feel safe and heard. I would love the opportunity to bring my experience, energy, and care into your home and become part of your family's journey.
