I became a caregiver out of necessity and my mother. My mother was a RN at stanfords children's hospital for 25 years before her passing. I was 15 years old. My mother was known as the baby whisperer, this is a skill she passed to me. When she passed I became emancipated minor. At the time I worked as a lifegaurd and for one of my mothers friends who ran a daycare until a family who's children attended the daycare made me a offer to work exclusively taking care of their 4 children a 9 month old, 2 year old, 4 year old and a 7 year old. My duties included giving the children swim lessons 3 days a week, help with homework (for the older child. I also would clean including laundry and general household chores.
