Meet Olevia

  • Comfortable with pets

Hi! My name is Olevia Lewis and I'm going into my 4th year of undergraduate studies. I’m currently studying public health and plan to pursue an MPH once I graduate. My interests are in urban health, community health education, and health justice. I also have a passion for psychology/child development and love working with children. I have two siblings, a younger brother, and an older sister who are my whole world. They've taught me many invaluable lessons about love and life. My older sister, who has a childcare business of her own is one of my biggest role models. I've worked with kids ever since I was little. In middle school, I was a tutor to one of my younger brother's classmates. His mom worked for our school and asked me for my help, which I was happy to give! My sister runs a childcare/education business which I’ve helped her Read more with from time to time, especially during the pandemic. I used to attend the University of Nevada, Reno where I worked for two different nannying agencies. At the first, I was a tutor and babysitter. At the second, I worked more closely with a couple of different families. I most recently worked as a camp counselor at my former primary school. It’s incredibly fun to be back in the environment that raised me. My primary school played a very instrumental role in my formative years and I feel so lucky to be able to pay it forward. As a caregiver, I’ve worked with children from 5 months old to 15 years old. I love to come up with fun, developmentally appropriate games for my littles. I also love being in nature and taking scenic walks/hikes. I’m from Oakland, California and grew up in the Bay Area. As a kid, my mom always found fun (and a lot of times free) activities for my siblings and I to participate in. I plan on taking that expertise with me as I care for a wonderful, loving family!
