I've worked in the child care field right out of high school (2002). Volunteering at my churches As I attended Cerritos College soon after that I worked at around the world center in Downey for 2 years(2005). Took a year off to continue my education and then worked at the YMCA for 3 years and then part time for 1 year (2006-2010) leaving the YMCA I worked for a family watching their two twin daughters for the last 4 years now their in Elementary school. I would have to say that being a nanny is very rewarding, it's more one on one which is beneficial to the children I care for, in a daycare their are 12 children per caregiver. Being a nanny is more personal and rewarding. My specialties are arts and crafts I believe children learn through experiencing different things in their environment. For example If we are Read more taking a walk at the park and the child picks up a pinecone we can do a lesson plan based off pinecone. Where did that pinecone come from why does the pinecone feel like , even make a bird feeder out of the pinecone. Or if your child is younger we can do more sensory projects for example shaving Cream exploration. I have many ideas to do with your children all I need is the opportunity to show you what I can do.
