Meet Hayes

Hello there! My name is Hayes, and I am a passionate and dedicated caregiver with over 10 years of experience in childcare. Experience overview: - 1-year full-time nanny (2 yo boy/girl twins) - 1-year childcare through fitness studio (Newborn - middle school, up to 14 kids at a time) - As-needed babysitting 10+ years - Long-term after-school pickup jobs for older kids - 3 summers camp counselor for grades kindergarten - 4th grade More about my nannying style: I think I have a real gift for working with children. I am the most patient person you will ever meet, so I can keep a level head when things get crazy. Working with twins at my last job, things often got very crazy. Looking back, I’m proud of how I handled every single tantrum or bad day. I am nurturing and warm and kind. I can hold the line when kids Read more fight back without being stern or snappy. We always joked at my last house, “there’s no reasoning with a two-year-old,” but I often found that I could. If my first approach doesn't work, I am quick to adapt and I can think of something new to try before I get too flustered. I think children’s minds are wonderful and they deserve every chance to grow and be independent. I think they are often more capable than we give them a chance to show. I like to be supportive and give them a chance to stumble a little as they try new things, but never enough to get too discouraged. I grew up in the arts so I love spending my free time thinking up fun new activities and crafts to do together. In my child development classes, I spent lots of time covering the best activities and games for every stage of childhood. Having these child psych classes under my belt, I often found that I could offer new perspectives to parents if they were struggling with something. I never overstep anyone’s parenting philosophy. You know what’s best for your child and I will stick to those routines, nutrition guidelines, approaches to discipline, etc. Most of all, I like being one step ahead of the parents at all times. If you work, then you only get a limited time with your child each day and I want that to be as special and easy for you as possible. I love to help out around the house as much as I can to keep our shared space clean and happy. I am reliable, responsible, and professional. I have many references that can attest to that. I am also joyful, full of energy, and loving, and I will treat your family as my own!
