Hello, I'm Alyssa! Growing up in a blended family with 8 siblings, I've always been surrounded by little ones. My journey in caregiving began at age 7 when my first younger sibling was born. Professionally, I've been involved in caregiving since my first job as a paid babysitter at 12. Beginning at 16, I've worked in various care roles, nannying on and off before becoming a registered home care aid at 20 and committing to the profession full time in 2020. I have had the honor of caring for people of all ages, from infant tummy time to tutoring teens, even providing Alzheimer's care for seniors up to 102 years old! My experience spans a wide range including working with individuals with various mental and physical disabilities and ongoing health conditions. I hold current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications through the Red Cross, both for adults and pediatrics. When life permits, I continue pursuing my child development degree with a minor in sign language. I find joy in integrating all that I learn, including simple sign language and Spanish, into my interactions with children. A devoted animal lover, I have experience in dog handling and positive reinforcement training, and I volunteer at The Animal Pad, helping with adoption events. I have a senior dog who’s my constant companion, so I hold a special place in my heart for older pets. I am fully vaccinated and regularly maintain them. I have recent background checks (done through Care.com and UrbanSitter), clean driving record, and a reliable Toyota sedan. I’m happy to provide all records upon request including recent references. Helping others is my greatest passion, and I cherish the moments of joy and wonder that come with caring for and working with families.
