Dear Family, My name is Tanisha and I am 26 years old. I have been working with infants and children at Travis Air Force Base for 7 years. Since I love working with children, I decided to dedicate my time to watch and teach the children of the members in the United States Military. I worked with all ages between 6 weeks to 5 years old in our Child Development Center. I write out fun weekly lesson plans for the children that targets their growth and development. I also maintain portfolios of each child. I am extremely capable of supervising more than one child at a time. I worked in the infant room for 2 years. My ratio for infants was 4:1 but can have up to 8 infants with another caregiver. Each infant was on a specific schedule that fitted their need. I also worked with pre-toddlers (12 months- Read more 24 months) ratio 5:1 for 3 years, Toddlers (24 months- 36 months) ratio 7:1 for 1 year and preschool age 3 to 5 ratio 12:1 for 1 year. I value the development of children in the early years for it is very important. Spending countless hours with the children, I have helped them learn to walk, talk, baby sign language, problem solving, self-help skills, fine motor skills, large motor skills, social skills, reading, writing, cognitive, and many more learning skills. I have also worked with children with special needs. Example of a daily schedule: 8:00 -- breakfast 9:30 – Tooth brushing 10:00 – Story time/ free play 10:30 – Outdoor play 11:30 – lunch 12:00 – Nap/time 2:00 – Snack 2:30 – activity 3:00 – Outdoor time 4:00 – inside activity 5:00 – late snack Now that I have mastered my current profession, I am looking and seeking to give my experiences and skills to a family that is in need of a caregiver that will be dedicated in helping a family achieve their daily goals.
