After about 15 years of working in the clothing industry, I realized my true passion is caring for children. During the last decade, I spent most of my free time volunteering at my church’s Adventurers Club. As the club’s director, I’ve watched the children grow older and this has made me realize that caring for them is what I enjoy doing. I enjoy working with children because they are very loving and sincere. They have a great imagination and the funniest of ideas! Most of all, I just adore their spontaneity! I love helping them learn and seeing their faces when they feel accomplished. My last job was with a family of 4 with two adorable toddlers. I was with them for three years until the pandemic hit in 2020. When I started with them the children were 1 and 3 years old. During those three years I was fortunate Read more enough to watch them grow, learn, and experience the world in new ways. My responsibilities included transporting the eldest child to and from preschool, meal prepping, scheduling bath time and meal time, overseeing play dates, and helping with homework. During the day we would play soccer, learn colors, read together, sometimes go to the park. However, my favorite activity was making crafts together. One of my favorite memories was making slime with them! They got so excited about picking colors and mixing; it was a great afternoon. Being a long-time Director for the Adventures Club has taught me countless lessons. The most important is how to build rapport with children so I can earn their trust and confidence to work better together. On the more technical side, as the club’s Director, I oversaw the planning of lessons involving arts and crafts projects, games, and conducted animated storytelling. I also planned outings and age appropriate field trips, for example, trips to fire stations, museums, farms and camping grounds. We also had trips to Catalina Island, snow outings and tournaments. Some of the lessons I’ve taught include: first aid, fire safety, responsibility and manners, caring for pets, chores around the home, nature and animals. If you were to choose me to take care of your children, you can rest assured that they will be well cared for. They will not only be having a nanny but a teacher and a friend. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions you may have.
