Hi! My name is Alexa. Originally from South Florida, I moved to Chicago to pursue my acting training, and hold a B.F.A. in acting from the Theatre Conservatory at Roosevelt University. I essentially grew up in a theatre - my parents are both actors and when I was four years old, my mom started working as a director and teacher at Florida Children's Theatre - so, I've been around massive amounts of children for a large portion of my life. I started working at the Theatre's summer camp when I was sixteen, first as a counselor and eventually, during summer college breaks, becoming a show director. At camp, the kids were ages 6-16. I began babysitting when I was 12 years old and then moved on to interning at my temple in the early childhood department. While there, I worked with 2-3 year olds - playing games, dancing, reading, feeding, Read more and changing diapers. While in high school, I became a nanny to my neighbor's two children, who were 1 & 3 at the time. I went to their home in the mornings, hung out with them (played, did arts & crafts, went to the park, etc.) and once they were older, I drove and picked them up from school and aftercare. I still remain very close to the family and when I am visiting home for extended periods of time (school breaks, etc.), I help out with the kids, who are now 9 & 11. Before moving down to Miami, I nannied for a family in Chicago for 2 years, primarily with their 3.5 year old son (though I often had their 5 year old daughter, as well). I drove their vehicle to pick the son up from school, spent afternoons going to various activities, went for lots of walks / spent hours at the park, picked up his sister at the end of the day, and usually prepared dinner, and often did bath and bed time. I also walked dogs for a year in Chicago - so, if you have a dog, I'd be happy to be his or her nanny as well. I am new to Los Angeles!
