Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to read about me! My experience with children started as a babysitter to my younger siblings when I was in high school. I also started volunteering at my church with a toddler class at this age as well! After high school I spent the summer volunteering at a children's home in South Africa where I helped take care of 15 children all under the age of 6. After that I knew I wanted to work with kids! I started junior college and did take a couple child development courses, but at the age of 20 I married my best friend and we ended up moving away to Guam. After living in Guam for almost a year we moved to Washington state where my husband attended school and I did various jobs and continued volunteering with the nursery at our church. In November 2015 Read more I became a backup caregiver for a great company in Seattle. Being a backup caregiver basically meant I was a full time babysitter! Every day I was assigned to a different family so I have a lot of experience with different ages, personalities, and even parenting styles! I absolutely LOVED this job, but my husband finished school and so we moved for his new job. As a backup caregiver I was responsible for: preparing food/bottles and feeding the children, changing diapers, playing with the kiddos, putting children down for naps, cleaning up after children, and other various activities! The only things I was not allowed to do as a backup caregiver was give the child medication or drive the children(this was due to company policies) My favorite things to do with kids are playing outside/going for walks, playing board games, and reading! Thanks again for taking the time to read this! I hope you have a great day!
