Nanny: MY BABIES ARE ALL GROWN UP! NOW WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? With one child graduating high school this spring and the other next year, it’s sometimes hard to imagine they were once sweet, tiny, helpless babies. I tell my kids all the time that I love them so much I would do it all over again with them. I’ve been a stay at home mom for 17 years and absolutely love babies, toddlers and children. I would love to nanny for a family in the area. I have an Elementary Education degree and a degree in Psychology. Before my children were born, I taught elementary school for 11 years (teaching grades K-6) and had a very successful tutoring business concentrating in elementary phonics-based reading and writing as well as hands-on manipulative math. Babies and toddlers make connections in their brains between the ages of newborn and 5 Read more to 6 years old, after that they start losing connections for the rest of their lives. These connections develop by nurturing all five senses and form the basis of both short and long term memory. I will not only lovingly care for your child, but also provide your child with experiences that will make connections through play and hands on activities. Now is the time to introduce classical music, letters, numbers, science, etc; not when they start school. If your child(ren) are school age, I can help with homework. I love the outdoors, museums, conservatories, and anywhere I can take young kids to learn about history, science, etc. I have coached ice hockey, figure skating, soccer, baseball, tennis and golf.
