My name is Ivory and I am an upcoming senior studying Environmental Studies at CU Boulder. I am looking for a part-time nannying or babysitting position during my time as a student. I grew up with six younger siblings, who are now between the ages of 3 and 17, so I am extremely comfortable interacting with and caring for younger children. At age 14 is when I started doing professional childcare for Incredible Years Parenting Class, which involved babysitting for 2 hours every week for a total duration of 8 weeks. I was a childcare provider for 2 years for the Incredible Years Parenting class. Previously, I was a part-time nanny for a family on a ranch with three boys; there were two twin boys aged 3 and an older brother aged 4. I nannied for the boys for 3 months, 2 days a week and 6 hours per day. Read more I prepared meals, put them down for naps, played and interacted with them, took them on walks, drove them to different places on the ranch, played games outdoors, etc. The mom and I went over safety protocol and what to do in emergency situations. With my experiences with young children, childcare, and nannying, I feel very confident in my abilities to handle various situations, treat children with kindness and respect, and interact with them as a trusted peer yet also as a friend. Last school year, I was an after-school sitter for 2 elementary school-aged boys. I drove them to after-school activities, prepared meals, and aided them with getting homework completed. I am extremely comfortable with boys, girls, and non-gendered individuals. I really enjoy babysitting because I love getting outdoors and expressing my creative side. Kids are always willing to go on an outdoor adventure and they truly are the most creative of all of us. I also think that my babysitters growing up were really positive influences in my life, and I would love to be that for someone else. Babysitting would be a great job for me during my time as a student because it allows me to do what I love with some awesome kids, while still being accommodating to my class schedule.
