Hi folks! Shawn here. So much to possibly say! I am a lover of skiing, soccer, endless variety of music, fiction books, comedy, baking bread, all things science and the appreciation of art forms beyond my comprehension. I think getting outside, seeing the sun and drinking water each day can do a world of good. If I am watching Netflix, there is a 50-50 chance it is in Spanish. I relish trying new things and find deep joy in facilitating these new skills/understandings to others. At heart, this means I am a creative educator who prides himself in being deeply compassionate, empathetic and curious about everyone's individualities. I have continuously been fueled by the opportunity to foster others' growth and curiosity. I have spent years as an outdoor educator/guide, leading middle + high schoolers on multi-week excursions around the US. I am apt in managing complex schedules and budgets as well as the fluctuating needs of multiple individuals in varying environments. I am a certified ski instructor with a child development focus who has spent 5+ years establishing lesson plans and varying teaching styles for kids ages 3-18. Perched on the advanced, rocky slopes of Jackson Hole Resort, I have been entrusted with the safety and well being of countless students while aiding in their personal growth. When it comes to more traditional nannying posts, I have taken on the responsibility of two previous sibling sets of 3. Untraditionally, my roles have taken on a diverse adventure-nanny description. Beyond assisting with school work, preparing meals and managing extracurriculars, I provide mentorship and instruction in many outdoor activities. From all things backpacking + camping, bike riding, kayaking etc...I can be entrusted with advancing your child's confidence and understanding in the outside world. It goes without saying but children are wonderful. It is impossible to not be amazed by their inquisitive and curious minds.
