I was raised in a family of 5 children as the second daughter with two older siblings and two younger siblings. I started babysitting after-school every work day for a family with two elementary aged school children. My role was to make sure they changed their school clothes, had some down time playing outside before they started up on their homework and preparing a snack. Very rarely did I prepare supper. In my freshman year of high school through my junior year I baby sat for three boys every night after school. This included much of the same things I did with the former household only the mother was single and I often made supper, cleaned up, and filled in when she worked late hours. Sometimes, I would be called upon to stay overnight if it was a Friday. I taught pre-school, kindergarten, grade 6, 7, 8, 9 for five Read more years. I felt it important that children understand what Is expected of them first and when they understand what is expected of them - roles are clearly defined - that they are the happiest. Hence, what the parent expects of their children is what I will expect from their children as I am simply an extension of fulfilling the plan they have for their children.
