My mother ran a successful in-home daycare for more than 20 years in the midwest. As soon I was old enough, I was helping to run the family business. As a teenager I also picked up all the neighborhood babysitting gigs I could. When I got older and moved out of the house I worked at a YMCA daycare center for one year. My time there was spent working with children from ages 1-3. A few years later I moved to Portland, OR and became the full-time nanny for 2 children ages 18 mos. and 3 years old. I worked for this family for two years before moving to Denver and we are still very close. Those children are now 9 and 11! We have visited each other several times over the last seven years. Aside from that I have dabbled in other industries over the years-massage therapy, journalism, and Read more most recently craft bartending. I am 32 and now at an age where many of my friends have families and children of their own. Babysitting is second-nature at this point and has always been a big part of my life.
