I grew up helping my parents care for my two younger siblings and had multiple babysitting jobs throughout high school. My involvement with caregiving evolved from just a job into more of a passion after my time in South Africa. After my second year of college I moved to Muizenburg, South Africa for about four months to work for a non profit attempting to keep the kids from the township off the streets. I worked in a management position in an after school program called Surfshack. My responsibilities included picking the kids up after school, helping with homework, making lunch, leading various activities and getting the kids home safe. I cared for 27 kids, ages ranging from 4 months to 16 years old. A while after returning to the states I landed a nanny job caring for a 12 year old girl and 14 year old boy for the summer Read more and enjoyed it immensely. The following summer I worked as a personal caretaker for a young man with autism which turned out to be one of my favorite jobs that I have had. I just moved back to Buffalo and am looking to start ASAP!
