Hi there! My name is Brina and I've held positions and had a mix of experience as a babysitter/nanny/student aide for 8 years. Recognized for logic, empathy, flexibility, patience, kindness, as well as for possessing exceptional communication abilities, and an open-mindedness to learn the best ways to work with a diverse range of families and children. My educational background in psychology with relevant courses dedicated to childhood development, health and wellness, and cognition are beneficial in looking out for and staying ahead of the needs of both kiddos and parents. In these hectic and unsure times, it's so beneficial to have support while navigating important developmental and educational milestones. Working with children has always been a passion of mine; believing they offer perspectives and mindsets that are often forgotten or taken for granted as we get older. My first full-time nanny position was when I was 16 years old, but Read more I began babysitting at 14. I’ve worked with children as young as 3 weeks and as old as 13 years. I'm the second oldest of nine children and have been heavily involved in the raising of my siblings. All families have had a variety of pets, medical needs, and dietary restrictions. Educational prep was part of my work with each family ranging from daily educational activities to homework help. I worked as a tutor/student aide and helped run a math class for a school year at an alternative HS. Education goes beyond the classroom and I'm passionate about learning. I have personal experience with home-schooling for a few years as well as online schooling platforms, schedules, and structures. I have a young heart and like to think that I offer the empathy necessary to work with children and families, the clear mind to make quick decisions and handle situations in a logical manner, and the spirit to love working with people and believe that every individual has what it takes to change the world in their own way. I'm passionate about life, excited to improve continuously, strive to be a better person, and hope to impact someone enough to make them want to do the same.
