Hello families! I am a former elementary teacher with 20+ years of experience working with children. Teaching is my passion! Therefore, I offer learning based care for little (and big) kiddos. I strive to make every day fun and incorporate learning into every activity. Whether a nature walk to the park looking at leaves and bugs, or cooking in the kitchen with healthy foods, math and measurements, there are so many opportunities for learning! Every day with me includes reading, lots of reading! As a certified reading instructor, I have worked with all ages, from infants and toddlers to school age kids, instilling a love of books and a love of reading. There is no greater experience than watching a little one learn, grow and gain the confidence they need to excel. As much as I enjoy working with kids, I know the importance of working with parents too. Being Read more a parent and raising kids is the hardest job on the planet! As the parent of 4 grown children, including a special needs child, I know the struggles of parenting. From the terrible twos (which, in my opinion, are not so terrible) to the challenging teen years (which, in my opinion, can be VERY challenging), I have been there! Honesty, trust and open communication are of upmost importance between parents and caregiver. As a parent, I have also had years and years of experience in household management. I know how to work within a budget, juggle calendars, school, and activities. I like to keep things neat, tidy and organized. Keeping a well organized household helps create a calm, peaceful environment for kids and parents alike. Throughout my career I have worked with single parents, divorced parents, married parents, LGBQ parents and parents of many different backgrounds, religions and ethnicities. I will work hard honor your family’s values and beliefs. I am honest, reliable, discrete and nonjudgmental. I am ready and willing to work in partnership with you to ensure the happy, healthy growth and development of your precious little one(s).
