I have experience with children aging 3months to 12 years old and the most children I have watched is around 29 at once in a day camp situation. In a home situation I have watched 3 children at once. I believe that, unless otherwise instructed, older children should play safely outdoors and get lots of fresh air and exercise with healthy snacks and meals. If they are not the outdoors type then they should play indoors or have fun activities/hobbies to do, like building doll houses, playing an instrument, or learning how to cook. Younger children should play with toys/learning tools, dance, learn colors and numbers with fun cards or games, play silly games, use their imagination, and most of all have fun while constantly learning. Infants are a different story, they are to be kept happy and played with. As much playing as the infant wants to do I Read more will gladly do. Whether it is just handing them colorful toys they love while they lie in their rocker near-by where I am or full out playing peek-a-boo, the infant version of airplane, bouncing on my knee, singing songs at/with them, or however else they like being entertained I am comfortable doing. I will put a kid in front of the TV if that is what the parent wants. While I have no certifications, I have worked with/have experience with children who were ADD/ADHD, autistic, and bipolar. I have American Red Cross Certified for Babysitting since February 6, 2005. The certification does not expire. I am willing to receive any required certifications or background checks. I just have not had the ability to do so yet.
Trust & safety
We encourage parents to conduct their own screenings using the background check tools. See what each of the badges covered, or learn more about keeping your family safe by visiting the Trust & Safety Center.
