I am currently two years out of college at the University of Virginia, where I obtained a degree in English Literature & Language and a degree in French Literature & Language. My background includes many years of working with children and adults in varying settings. I spent many seasons working one-on-one and with groups as a Special Olympics swimming instructor. My swimmers had a wide variety of mental and physical disabilities. I have worked in a hospital in Ecuador as a general assistant to a team of joint replacement surgeons during a medical mission trip. After graduating from UVA, I spent a year in northern France working as an assistant English teacher to French students aged 11 to 15. I am currently an administrative assistant in a local Montessori school where I work inside and outside of the classroom to help preserve a motivational and comfortable learning space. Our school Read more caters to children from 15 months to 6th grade. My evenings are spent coaching tumbling, teaching yoga, and working at the local National Ability Center which offers programs similar to those of Special Olympics. My experience in schools and as a volunteer have enhanced my abilities to work with people of all ages and of all abilities. I am more than comfortable acting as a caregiver to anyone in need! My education background also gives me the status to tutor in subjects such as English/writing, French language, and basic Spanish.
