My experience working with children spans over a decade and across many environments. I am comfortable working with children of all ages and backgrounds- and, I am passionate about fostering fun and creative spaces for kiddos to learn about both themselves and the world around them! -- For many years, I worked as a volunteer with the Special Olympics swimming and equestrian programs. These opportunities allowed me to train closely with participants of all ages with varying physical and mental disabilities. -- I have two years of working in a formal education environment. My first year after college, I lived in the north of France and worked as a middle school English teacher. I created interactive lesson plans (lots of games!) to encourage my students to speak confidently. I spent the following year working at a small Montessori academy where I worked inside and out of the classroom. I worked Read more with children aged 5 months to 12 years at this school. My favorite classroom to assist was the toddlers- such a delight! -- These roles have enhanced my ability to be patient and communicative in all situations. I am very fond of the Montessori method that includes creative outlets, like art, food, nature, and music, into traditional subjects, like math and grammar. -- I am currently applying to go to school to get my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
