Dear Prospective Family, My name is Madison Martinez and I am a graduate of the Northwest Nannies Institute (NNI). I was born and raised in Louisville, Colorado, and I've been nannying for Eleven years. I plan on owning my own home daycare one day. I am currently on maternity leave and it is ending November 25, 2022. I'm looking to being able to bring my son who will be 3 months with me. I wanted to become a nanny because I have always liked to care for children. Going to NNI was just one of many stepping stones to my vision of becoming the ultimate child care provider. I began by taking general studies college courses and Early Childhood Development courses, but I longed for a more hands on experience and found my perfect fit with NNI. NNI prepared me to be a nanny or a teacher in a day Read more care setting. The courses in child development taught me the stages of development from birth through adolescence. I was certified in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR and First Aid. I really enjoy coming up with fun creative activities and crafts on the spot and my course work gave me an opportunity to formalize these skills. I also learned what activities are appropriate for a child's developmental stage. In my safety class work I was taught how to be street wise for both nanny and child. My communication classes improved my skills in speaking with both children and adults. I also studied Nutrition and had lots of opportunity for hands on cooking that incorporated healthy food both in class and with my host families. No detail was left out, I even received instruction in proper etiquette for dining out or for a formal party. I was diagnosed with dyslexia in first grade which has given me a unique understanding of the fact that different styles of learning are much more effective and appropriate for different children. I am very sincere and like to make sure everyone is happy. You will find me to be very honest and open to suggestions. I am always trying to improve myself. I m very enthusiastic about my work.
