Hi, my name is Amanda. I have been involved with helping fill the needs of families for over 10 years. I not only "watch" kids, but going beyond the call of duty doing what is necessary to keep the home environment working to its full potential. I have been blessed to have cared for and helped teach a home schooling family of 5, watched infants and toddlers whom I have grown very close to. I have years of experience with all age groups from newborns to teens. In past jobs, I've had the responsibility of school pick ups and drop offs, running errands, doing laundry, house cleaning, caring for pets, helping to prepare meals, caring for and feeding infants, taking the children out for different daily activities such as reading time at the library, playing at local parks, visiting museums and more. I like to be active with the kids Read more and challenge them in their personal interests. I don't like spending time in front of the TV with them and would prefer to be doing more productive activities that will grow their knowledge, social skills and help them develop their character as they mature. I have very strong moral beliefs and try to work toward the parents' goals for the behavior and etiquette of their loved ones. As a volunteer fire fighter of 7 years and a gold awardee of a scouting organization of over 8 years, safety is number one and I am continually assessing the situation to provide the safest environment possible for the kids and know what to do in emergency situations. I graduated with a BFA in Photography and it's my deepest passion. I love working with kids, being outdoors, working with my hands, teaching and I'm not afraid of trying new things and going to new places. My art has been featured in a gallery in NYC and I spent a summer in Rockport, Maine at the Maine Media Workshops.
