I have been babysitting family members children since I was 13 years old. My volunteer hours for high school were spent volunteering at a daycare. Right out of high school I worked as a teachers assistant for 2 years. I worked with all ages but during the last 6 months while I was at the daycare I worked primarily with the infants. Hello! I’m Tessa. I have worked with kids in various settings for about 15 years. I have nannied and babysat, I’ve worked in classrooms, in outdoor education, and was the director of a nature-based afterschool program. In these various settings I have worked with infants through elementary-school-age kids, occasionally with middle schoolers as well. My formal education in child development started in high school through the Child Development Program that led to preschool teacher certification in RI. I earned a dual bachelor’s in psychology and child studies, which involved work in an infant classroom in a daycare setting and led to a teacher certification for infants and toddlers in MA & CT.
