I have babysat children going on 9 years now, since I was certified as a babysitter at 12 years old through a middle school program I enrolled in where I was also taught CPR. I have volunteered for the home daycare that I attended as a child and have also had numerous babysitting jobs. I have experience with all ages (newborn-mid-teens) and also children with cognitive and physical disabilities as well as children with food allergies. I was a nanny for two years where I cared for two boys ages 6 and 9. I was responsible for preparing snacks/dinner, driving to and from sporting activities, homework help and any other part of daily living that they would need help with. Simply, I was their mother from 3-9pm each weekday. I am currently pursuing my Bachelors, majoring in General Psychology, I will be going to graduate school with hopes of earning Read more a doctoral degree in Clnical Psychology and ultimately becoming a Clinical Psychologist. I love any and all outdoor activities, crafts, and anything music related; I've play clarinet for 10 years and can also play a bit of guitar and piano. I love any board game, especially Scrabble. I am a very organized and reliable person. I know that families have different ways of raising their children and I always make it my goal to learn as much as I can about the normal daily routine of the family and keep it the same when I am caring for the children. I aim to teach children to respect the rules and also understand why those rules are in place. I do not want children to see me as solely an authority figure but also as a confidant. It is important that children trust and feel comfortable with their caregiver. Although I have not chosen childcare as a career path, it is something that I am very passionate about and take very seriously. Thank you for considering me.
