Hello there! My name is Heather and I am 22 years old. I have recently graduated from Housatonic Community College this past May. I have been a nanny since I was a junior in high school. I have lived in Milford my whole life, and worked as a nanny in and around the area. My mom runs an in home daycare so I have been around child care and working with children since I was 4 years old. I love kids and since my mom started the daycare, I knew caring for them was something I wanted to do. When I first started nanny-ing I was responsible for two children, ages 7 and 10. I was responsible for getting them off the bus, homework help, snack and dinner. After that, I worked for a family for 2 years, watching their son after school, during summers, and on school days off. Read more I was responsible for homework help after picking him up at school, preparing snacks and dinner, running errands, light housework, and helping in care for their dog. Since leaving them, I have been working for two families four days a week, watching children ages 7, 9 and two 10 year olds' now. I get them off their bus, get them snacks and do homework then I am responsible to bring them to their after school activities, for example baseball and gymnastics. During the summers I pick them up from camps and we do lots of activities together, for example go to the zoo, library, beach, do crafts, and anything to keep their summer exciting and keep them from getting bored. Although I have mostly watched older children for work, on the weekends I typically babysit for the kids in my mom's daycare for their parent's "date nights." These children range from 5 months old, to 5 years old. Plus, being around the kids in my house so much, only gives me more knowledge in how to care for them every day.
