Hello! My name is Emily, I'm 30, and I adore kids of all ages. I have been working with children since I was a preteen doing everything from assisting children's dance classes to tutoring to babysitting. As an adult, I have been a nanny as well as worked at a daycare, and I have taken many courses regarding child development and education, including a newborn care specialist course. While I do not currently have any children of my own, I have had the pleasure of taking care of many little ones from newborn to age twelve. I even have experience with twins and triplets! Another fun fact is that both of my parents, my sister, and my grandmother have all professionally worked with children, so you could say that taking care of kids is in my blood! I have asthma, food allergies, and a few other health conditions that I Read more have been managing for a couple of decades, so I am comfortable and familiar with taking care of children who may have similar medical challenges. I do not drive, but I am happy to spend time with your kids in your home. I also love animals of all shapes and sizes, so hopefully I can befriend your pets too! I believe in giving children age appropriate structure, gentle guidance, and a kind example to look up to, but I am flexible and able to adapt to your parenting style. I love helping kids learn through play, and I especially enjoy art projects and creative experiences. I primarily take part in more sedentary activities, but I am able to supervise if your children want to run around and burn off some energy, and I do enjoy taking them on walks! I also know American Sign Language and enjoy implementing this wherever appropriate. A bit about me and my personal life: I love to crochet, I am a freelance writer, and I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and pets! I'm very laid back, a bit of a tree-hugger, and I try to see the good in everyone. I'm very openminded and have been friends with people from many different walks of life. I developed anxiety when I was around eight, so I understand the importance of mental health and emotional support for children (and us adults too!) I am vaccinated and willing to wear a mask. I am hoping to update my CPR and first aid training very soon, as it is a bit out of date! Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have!
