My name is Allison Wendt, I hold a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and I have 8 years of preschool experience, as well as a number of experiences working with children of various ages and in different settings. From babysitting, to being a camp counselor, to being a teacher, I'm prepared for it all. My skills as an educator make me a great fit for families looking for nannies that provide not just fun but growth in all areas of your child's development. When working with children I rely upon mutual respect, effective communication and problem solving to guide children through their daily routine. Children in my care have regular opportunities to express emotions through play and games, as well as utilizing tools such as the Mood Meter as a way for children to reflect on what they are feeling. My Reggio inspired approach to play focuses on children's Read more emergent interests, drawing upon a children’s natural curiosities as springboards for inquiry. For example, if your child was curious about ocean life, we could read books about the ocean, explore the beach, and do themed projects around the topic of ocean life. By allowing children to guide the learning process it creates a deeper understanding of material and more meaningful connections to the learner.
