I been in the childcare field for 25 years and consider myself to be a career nanny. I have found childcare to be a very rewarding experience. While attending high school, I began to work with children. The nuns operated a nursery school and students were given the option to work with the children. I realized it takes a special person to be a suitable nanny, totally cognizant of the challenges, dealing with very small children such as being able to handle being alone for long periods of the day without other adult interaction, a creative, self-starter, not becoming bored on a daily basis when working with children one on one and keeping busy and entertained throughout the day without having to be told what to do every hour.
