Your kids live in an amazing area of the world, and there is so much to be done! My philosophy is experience-based learning, with activities tailored to age, attention span, and current school curriculum. With an Ivy-League degree in mathematics and history, I have math tutoring experience. I love helping with homework at all ages, from spelling to fractions to reading practice! I have also worked in museum public programming and education, so I have a particular passion for the many galleries and museums around DC. Planning activities such as scavenger hunts or coordinating exhibits with children's books can start a life-long interest in museums. In addition, I love the outdoors and am an experienced hiker, yogi, and runner; I believe in creative play, outdoors if possible. I believe strongly in allowing children to develop and explore their own interests, there is no age too young to find your passion! Read more My goal is to offer a wealth of experiences which provide educational, artistic, physical, and social enrichment. I grew up in Rochester, NY as the daughter of a child psychologist and nursery school teacher. While this honed my childcare skills and created my extensive knowledge of children's books and crafts, I learned that a genuine interest in children's lives and thoughts is most important. Asking lots of questions, and then listening to the answers, is not only important to cognitive development, it lets your child know they have a lot to offer the world!
