My name is Maddy. I am a PhD student that researches speech understanding and have focused on studying preschool children. I became interested in my chosen career from my early life experiences as a babysitter in middle school, working in day cares in high school and throughout my undergraduate career. I was also heavily involved in my community from high school and again in college. I worked with elder adults, individuals with disabilities, pre-literate adults, and children at a various number of organizations. As a part of my bachelor's degree, I am CPR certified. From my work at preschools and coordinating family support groups, I have been federally background checked and finger printed with the police. Because of my work as a PhD student with young children, I maintain my federal background check and fingerprint status.
