Hi there! I'm Melissa. I'm a mom of five, a Sunday school teacher, a former homeschooler and sitter/nanny of many years. My childcare experience includes caring for children - both my own and others' - with special needs such as cerebral palsy, ADHD, anxiety/depression, traumatic brain injuries, and autism, and caring for neurotypical children ages newborn to 12. I currently teach 5 and 6 year olds every week at Sunday school and have a special soft spot for that age group! I love to teach and learn alongside children. Watching concepts connect in their minds is such a gift! I love involving children in crafts and sensory play as well as active play to encourage appropriate physical development. In addition to skills and appreciation for interacting with children age toddler and up, I have also raised five great children from infancy and have extensive experience in many aspects of childrearing Read more - from attachment parenting practices such as babywearing to infant sleep training and scheduling. I also am an experienced user of cloth diapers since 2005 so if you have a baby in cloth, I'm your girl for washing, using, and troubleshooting! In addition to absolutely loving kids and caring for families, I also care for pets (and have experience with high needs pets - if you have a dog who is jumpy or difficult to control, I will gladly work with them!) I cook healthy and delicious meals and I clean. I am seeking a full-time position. My hours are flexible, including overnights and weekends - the only day and time I cannot work is Sundays between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM so that I may attend church.
