I grew up babysitting my sisters all of the time, including the neighbors two kids as well. After school, before school, when there wasn't school and when the parents wanted to go out. In the beginning it bothered me, until after about the 3rd time of having to babysit, I decided we would just have fun all night! So we played games inside, outside, raced, colored, dressed up, played sports, took walks, and so much more. But I learned that when watching kids, they don't want to just sit around all day, or just be told what to do every time they move, they want to let their imaginatons run wild, and having an adult like person to be involved in that with them makes them happy and makes them leaving their parents for the day so much easier and comfortable. I experienced with a little girl who never liked Read more leaving her mom, until one day I told her we were going to go to our castle because we were princesses and not everyone was allowed to see us, so we had to go and get all primped and dazzled up before anyone could lay their eyes on us, she smiled so big that after that whenever I was coming over to watch her she would say "Come on, the people can see us and we're not prettied yet".
