Hi! My name is Ahmiya Backus, and I’m excited to introduce myself as a dedicated and caring sitter. Working with children has always been a natural part of my life. As the oldest of four, I grew up helping care for my three younger siblings, and I’ve always been the go-to person for watching my younger cousins. Those early experiences taught me patience, responsibility, and the joy that comes from helping kids learn, grow, and feel supported. During and slightly after high school, I had the opportunity to work at The Gem School daycare for almost two years. During my time there, I gained hands-on experience with children of different ages and personalities. I learned how to create a safe and fun environment, manage daily routines, and support each child’s social and emotional needs.
