First, and foremost I am raising three children of my own and know what a tremendous responsibility it is to influence, guide and protect a child. I have also had varied opportunities in caring for numerous nieces and nephews and babysitting for neighbors as far back as I can remember. My mother was a preschool teacher for many years and has passed on her vast knowledge of early childhood education that has helped me understand developmental milestones, recognize that children learn best through play, and that every child is an individual with unique needs and wants. My goal as a caregiver is to provide a nurturing environment that will promote the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of the whole child, while adhering to the requirements of the parents. I have recently moved to the area, and will be taking a refresher course in CPR and first aid before beginning Read more my employment. In addition to caring for children, I also cared for an elderly Alzheimer's patient for two years while attending college.
