Hello, my name is Maria Angelica Frederick. I am from Ecuador and came to the States when I was 32. I became a preschool teacher when I was 19 years old. I got my bachelors in pre-childhood education and several certificates dealing with teaching children. I opened my own preschool at the age of 25 which I left behind in Ecuador when I came to the States. I worked in a non-profit organization ran by the government called H.I.P.P.Y. This job dealt with visiting low income families who could not afford to send their children to preschool and giving the parents instructions and educational packets to prepare their kids for kindergarten. I stopped working at H.I.P.P.Y 11 years ago and began to babysit from home. Each day I practice with the kids and teach them all the basics and more to prepare them for kindergarten. I also have a little playground in my backyard as well as a pool which helps me get the kids tired for nap time. This and many activities like learning to paint, swim, trace, glue, etc are done on a daily basis.
