My name is Dominique Quallo. I am 23 years old, currently a crime science major at FIU. I’ve worked in the child care industry for 7 years. As a nursery aide i was required to change and feed children as needed. Properly sterilize equipment. Maintain an updated log sheet which consisted of changing time, feeding time, any injury’s, and any other additional information regarding the child being taken care of. I was required to have a variety of educational activities for the children. While living in Jamaica I was working as a swimming instructor for children 4-8. That experience taught me the importance of monitoring a child at all times as anything can happen in the blink of an eye. I was hired by a military family to tutor their 10 year old son with learning disabilities. I had to prepare him to prove to the school board that he Read more was qualified to move forward to the fourth grade. I was given three months to teach him material from the third grade. Fortunately he mastered his exam and after that his family made me his permanent tutor. Working with him taught me patience and different teaching methods that would help him remember the material better. My ability to maintain college and work, displays my dedication and ability to work hard. I enjoy helping people, I'm very good at time management. I can assure you that you’re child will always be happy and safe in my hands. I am passionate about working with youth because there aren’t a lot of people these days providing children with the necessary guidance to succeed in life. Children are so joyful and carefree. You can learn so much from them. Children are usually very comfortable around me because they feel like they can relate to me because of my age. Which makes my job easier because they respect me more. I absolutely love running around , playing and learning with children. It brightens my day everytime.
