Working with children is one of the best ways to give your time. Children keep us in touch with what is important in life, like being curious, true, silly, and loving. I am a caregiver by nature and devote myself to serving the needs of the families I work with. Being respectful and sensitive to others is very important to me and I am dedicated to co-creating an atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, safe, and adaptive to each child' s individual needs. My 15 years of experience has been with children from infancy to preteen. I've also had the pleasure of assistant teaching a toddler class at a Montesorri preschool here in Fort Lauderdale. So fun! I like to read as well as make up my own stories or listen to others. One of my favorite projects is to tell a story and illustrate it as we go, capturing the moment of creativity. Being active is also of great importance because it stimulates the mind-body connection and allows us to be more receptive to learning. A few things about me, I am a professional Nanny, RIE-inspired Chilcare Consultant, college student and manage my own Reiki practice as well as pet sitting business. I am involved in animal rights and human rights initiatives, and do volunteer work with animal rescuers from time to time. I garden and have a strong interest in Permaculture. I love children, animals and nature, so I will often integrate my interests when working with children to pass on knowledge that I hold important. My long term goals include working with children of all ages to develop their gifts, continuing to be an advocate for animals, pursuing my career in Permaculture and Environmental Science and teaching the practice of Reiki and Permaculture to adults and children. For proper safety for those under my care, I ask to be provided with necessary information such as any allergies, sensitivities, recent family traumas (divorce, death of family member or pet, etc.), contact information, specific household rules and the presence of any animals. If there is no opportunity to meet beforehand, I like to arrive early to have a tour of the house and be given specific information and instruction.
