Hello! My name is Natalie and I have been a childcare professional and a community doula for 6 years now. I love kids of course, as well as birth, herbalism, yoga, animals, cooking, reading, educating, painting and music. I started my career as an assistant teacher in a 2 year old classroom when I was 17, and was promoted to lead teacher of the 3 year old classroom after a year of working that position. I worked in that classroom for a year and a half, before moving to a low-income preschool that desperately needed an infant lead teacher. I fell in love with spending time with babies, and stayed in that position for 2 years. I also acted as a floater while working at that school whenever possible, which is where most of my experience with working with special needs children comes from. Most recently I have worked as Read more a nanny to a pair of siblings, who I helped bring into the world as their mama's postpartum doula. But the time has come to move from the sunshine state to the PNW, so here we are! When I'm not spending time with kiddos, I'm usually working as an herbalist for my loved ones who are going through perinatal transitions, making my own teas and bath soaks from handgrown healing herbs; spending time with my cats; or cooking up a new nourishing recipe! I'm also always working as a birth & postpartum doula in my community, assisting and educating families as they travel through the intense experience of childbirth & early parenthood. I center marginalized communities in my work, such as the LGBTQ+ and Black community who are at higher risk for mistreatment as people giving birth and as parents. I believe my compassionate, balanced, open-minded approach to children and life sets me apart from other nannies in the way that I am completely committed to nourishing your child as an individual, encouraging self-esteem and autonomy, and annoyances truly roll right off me. "Bad behavior" is just a child desperately trying to communicate, and I am ready to listen. It is simply an honor to play such an important role in such pivotal years! My partner and I are moving from Florida to the Tacoma area of Washington State in a matter of months, and I am hoping to secure a long-term position with the perfect family that I can start immediately after moving.
