When I was young I began babysitting around my neighborhood. At 16 I began employment with a small business and the business owners quickly became family. I was immediately given the task of caring for their infant son on nights and weekends, we had an instant connection and I was trusted in spending the night while they were out of town as well as transporting their child. Being so close with the family I was able to learn a lot about childcare in a very hands on environment, this experience gave me the confidence to feel comfortable taking on jobs with children and families I had not previously known. My new found confidence led me to a job with a beautiful 1 year old girl, her mother was a bartender and often times did not leave work until 4-6am. My duties with her included; diaper change, bath, transportation, feeding, putting Read more the baby to bed and spending the night sometimes. I would interact with the infant and read books, play games, take walks etc. In addition to those two long standing jobs, I took on many 'occasional' child care tasks. I am the daughter of a police captain and a nurse, I consider that fact to be the reason I am well balanced, a critical thinker and a flexible person. I do not panic, I also believe I possess certain basic medical and childcare knowledge. With that said; I am not shy, I am not afraid to ask for help or express discomfort if given a particularly difficult task. I am 24 years old and I currently work 9-5 in a doctors office. I am seeking a future career within the field. I hold an AA degree from BC and I am currently seeking my BA through FAU. I work very well with infants as well as kids of all ages. I absolutely love working with kids and l have found infant care to be especially touching and rewarding for me. My specialty? Getting crying babies to sleep!
