My name is Seraiah Sunshine Thomas, my name basically describes who I am and my personality. Which is a big ball of Sunshine. I am originally from Jackson, Michigan but currently live in Boca Raton to attend Florida Atlantic University. I am a junior majoring in Social Work, with a minor in Psychology, and hope to work with children in the future, with a specialization in juvenile justice. I grew up with seven other siblings, myself being the oldest, five of which are at least ten years younger then I am so as they grew up I was always the one caring for them and babysitting them when my parents were away. In middle school and high school I also volunteered on Sundays at my church in the nursery and child care rooms, thus I have experience with children from infants to middle school. At my church I also was Read more a counselor every summer for the music, dance, and art camps we held. While in high school I also babysat for family friends with their children ranging from infants to nine years old, and at times watching two to three children at a time. I took a CPR class in middle school, a first aid class my senior year of high school, and a health and fitness course last year during college. I have a passion for teaching and helping our youth as I am majoring in Social Work and specifically want to help children excel in their lives. I originally wanted to be a teacher so I love helping out children with their school work, for example when my two youngest brothers were going through preschool and Kindergarten I helped them learn their alphabet and math to prepare them for school. I love having fun with children and know how to make any situation seem exciting such as cleaning their rooms, doing their homework, or even getting them to finish their food.
