I initially began working with children as a babysitter at a young age. My love for kids kept me involved in volunteer work as an assistant instructor during swim lessons. Eventually, I went on to be a certified swim instructor/lifeguard. I was certified in CPR, however since then the certification has lapsed. I pursued a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Child Development taking classes such as Infant Psychology and Child Development. While in college, my parents became foster parents, so I spent my summers helping them entertain and take care of a wide age-range of children. I previously worked at a child development center where I worked with an age range of 12 months to 36 months. Through that job, I gained experience in potty training, as well as a number of techniques to help nurture children and aid in furthering their education. Currently, I am an in-home Read more care provider for an amazing 16-month-old. I am responsible for her meals and her laundry, as well as her early education and overall happiness. I enjoy spending time with kids because they all have this wonderful curiosity and engaging creativity I believe we start to lack as adults. Kids remind us to stop and enjoy the moments; to think outside the box. So far I've found that working with kids has been one of the more rewarding experiences someone can have.
