Hello! My name is Eliza. I am 35 years young with extensive experience in childcare. In high school I worked at a daycare where I divided my time between the nursery, three-year-old room, and school-aged room. I graduated early from Salisbury University in Maryland with a degree in Early Childhood Education during which I worked primarily in Kindergarten classrooms. I ultimately did half of my student teaching in a Kindergarten class in Somerset County in Maryland, and half in a First Grade class at the Saint Croix Country Day School in the Virgin Islands. After Graduation I worked for a short time for a family with three children, ages 2, 4, and 6, as well a daycare at which I co-taught a class of two-year-olds. For many years after I cared for two lively boys, from the ages of 2 and 3 to when they were 7 and 9, on Read more a full time basis in Baltimore. In addition, I worked part time at their school as a member of the before care staff and a substitute teacher. Since moving to Naples, I have divided my time between the service industry (where the money is at) and nannying (where my heart is at). For the last five + years I have worked with a family that now has three children, and I just started watching a baby with Down Syndrome one day a week as well. During COVID I also picked up extra work temporarily homeschooling kids! If you were to consider me for the position, I would prefer to watch your child(ren) in your home, though mine can be available on an as-need basis; I believe consistency is vital in a child's life and feel their natural environment would be best for development. I live in central Naples and have reliable transportation. I love animals, so if you have any that is not a problem (I have two cats of my own)! I do not mind light housework though my main focus is always the children. I am looking for (and believe I deserve) something between $25-$30 an hour based on my qualifications and experience, but am willing to discuss. After all, it's all about finding the right fit! I am blessed to have worked for great families in the past and and hoping to continue the trend.
