Hi, my name is Megan! I absolutely love caring for children as I believe they are the greatest miracle of life. Being a child at heart myself brings me such joy to interact and learn with them as they leap milestones in their lives. I’m the kind of grown-up that’ll never turn down the opportunity to go on the swings at the playground, getting messy outside, siting down for arts and crafts, or cooking a fun snack together with little ones. In my perspective, enriching the lives of young lives is essential as they develop with their own feelings and personalities, and it’s a privilege to be a part of that. I’ve been caring for children since I was 12 years old as a babysitter, following the journey as those babies later grew up. I was recently with a family for two years that have become a second family to Read more me, whom I love and cherish every day. It would be so special to me being an important figure in another child’s life for the next family. Each family’s needs are different from the last, and I believe it’s important to be the right fit for the routines parents set in place to assist the family and be a loving, trusting example for their children. I have experience with children of all wonderful abilities, including but not limited to Downs Syndrome, Autism and Asperger’s, late-bloomer speech and movement, deaf and hard-of-hearing, mute, and more. Everyone is perfectly unique exactly the way they are! I prefer to have lots of play and creativity. Let those imaginations run wild, asking lots of questions, and being curious. Science experiments even for little toddlers can teach them so much about the theories of how the world works. I am actually a pastry sous chef who’s on a break from hospitality. Cooking is my passion and I LOVE having little hands on deck learning how fun it is to work with food. I believe it helps reduce picky eating, encourages sensory play, and teaches healthy food habits. I’m also friendly-fluent in American Sign Language if that’s something that parents would like to teach their little ones whether to learn a new special language or for developing communication skills. I believe childcare is so much more than just babysitting. A nanny is a teacher, a role model, a trusted friend, a leader, a helper, and kind.
