Hi I'm April, I'm 33 years old and I've got two kids of my own. I have a 12 year old and a 10 year old. I've been married for 15 years, and I've been in childcare for 15 years. I've worked on multiple Air Force bases as both a lead teacher and a caregiver for all ages of children. I'm efficient and organized, and I love children. I only quit my childcare job in order to home school my own children and attend nursing school. I've taken S.T.E.P. Parenting classes through my past job, as well as being CPR trained. I've completed all my Child Development Modules and I've been through a year of Child Development classes working towards a dual degree (at that time). I've had both personal and professional experience working with autistic children, and professional experience working with down syndrome children. I feel that I bring Read more a certain calmness with me, I'm not easily upset or frustrated. I'm friendly and love engaging with kids of all ages. Arts and crafts are my thing!!! I Love them and could spend hours getting messy and creating beautiful pieces of art. I'm not great at music, yet I love singing and dancing in all my glorious mess, haha! I'm great with pets if you've got them, dogs don't scare me, and I've taken care of many weird/exotic pets over the years too. I'd love the opportunity to work for you by taking care of your children in your own home, where the kids feel most safe and comfortable! I'll feed them, clean up after them, and we can even run some errands if needed. I have a clean driving record! (& I drive a Honda Pilot, so plenty of space!) Occasionally if it's a good fit to let my own kids tag along, they might come with me. They also enjoy babies/kids and I encourage natural opportunities where they learn more about real life roles and responsibilities. (ONLY an option when this is discussed ahead of time, or in the case of someone needing a last minute sitter potentially). We interviewed April and loved her from the second she walked in. She was very warm and welcoming with our kids. We didn't end up using her because we were visiting the area for a short time but I would feel comfortable hiring her as a sitter if we're in the area again.

I know how daunting it is to leave your children with a new sitter. However, as soon as April walked through our door, I could tell she would be great. Not only was she responsive to my texts regarding the times I needed her to arrive, she also showed up on time, even a tad early. She has TONS of experience watching kids. She was sweet, attentive, and even did light cleaning. But, most importantly, when I got home my kids were having fun and so happy! We are moving next month. I wish I would have found her earlier. Can not recommend her enough!
